Recently, the US has been experiencing increased interest in penile cosmetic surgery utilizing silicone products, fillers, etc. Given Dr. Park’s expertise in cosmetic phalloplasty, the AUA invited him to give a talk during their SMSNA ‘State-of-the-Art Lectures’ session. Dr. Park detailed his observations of South Korea’s history, challenges, its current state with this cosmetic procedure and insight on how to handle this issue for the better good
In addition, the Dr. Steven K. Wilson Memorial Wilson Cup held an award ceremony recognizing the most prestigious surgeon in the field of prosthetic urology. Dr. Park attended as one of the select few of active penile implant surgeons, and Dr. Rafael Carrion, Professor of Urology at Florida State University became the recipient of this year’s award
