On May 4th-5th, the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) in Kiel, Germany held an advanced symposium – Immersion in Prosthetic Urology. The symposium was organized by Dr. Steven K. Wilson and Dr. Daniar Osmonov who is a professor and Head of the Department of Urology at UKSH
The inflatable penile implant training courses were led by four international experts including Dr. Park from South Korea and Dr. Van Renterghem from Belgium. Interested urologists from the neighboring European countries attended and had an opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on knowledge on anatomy for these surgeries
Before the symposium, Dr. Park performed a difficult IPP revision surgery with Dr. Wilson. And for the first day of symposium, Dr. Park gave a lecture on his subcoronal approach for inflatable penile implants, followed by a hands-on surgical demonstration with training on the second day
This in-depth symposium was a renovation from the previous symposiums based on Dr. Wilson’s 40 years of training experience. Trainees were fully immersed through live surgical demonstrations, videos and intensive lectures by each speaker in order to deepen their understanding of inflatable penile implant surgery
