From February 12th-15th, Dr. Park visited New Victoria Hospital in London, England to further train on improving patient care and surgical outcomes in inflatable penile prosthesis surgery. During his visit, Dr. Park observed surgeries led by Mr. Don Lee, a consultant of Mr. David Ralph’s internationally renowned Andrology Group.
Mr. David Ralph’s Andrology Group is one of Europe’s leading centers for andrology and gender affirmation surgery, known for its outstanding clinical outcomes and academic research. The team consists of professors and fellows from across Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and other regions. Among them is Mr. Don Lee, a highly respected specialist whose practice focuses on andrology, gender affirmation surgeries and complex inflatable penile prosthesis surgery. In addition, Dr. Park met with Mr. Christopher Nim who is also a respected surgeon and well known for his work in Uroandrology, especially infertility and phalloplasty.
Dr. Park’s relationship with this andrology group began nearly a decade ago. In 2016, he attended the annual London Inflatable Penile Prosthesis Masterclass hosted by Mr. David Ralph. In 2019, Dr. Park also visited University College London Hospital (UCLH), where he received penile reconstruction training under the guidance of Mr. David Ralph.
In recent years, the number of gender-affirming surgeries are becoming more commonplace, and surgical outcomes have also improved significantly compared to the past. This recent visit to London is a part of Dr. Park’s ongoing efforts to safely provide penile implant surgery and achieve better surgical outcomes for patients who have undergone penile reconstruction through gender-affirming surgery.
